CARYVILLE, TN. (WLAF)- Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant at 793 Mountain Road in Caryville on Tuesday. During the search, deputies located a crystal substance they believe to be methamphetamine, digital scales, glass pipes, and two homemade explosive devices.

Raymond William Gibbs and Gregory Wayne Thomas were in the home but denied any knowledge of the drugs or drug paraphernalia. Thomas allegedly shared that he had found the explosive devices in a camper.

Campbell County Sheriff Robbie Goins and deputies conducted the raid on Tuesday.

During the investigation, deputies discovered that Raymond William Gibbs was listed on the Sex Offender Registry, and had been found guilty of sexual battery, performing sexual conduct in the presence of a minor, and several drug related charges. Even though Gibbs had allegedly been staying at the home for more than a month, he had failed to report his change in residence, a requirement of the Sex Offender Registry. It was also discovered that Gibbs had absconded from Davidson County and was currently in violation of his probation.
