Betty Sue Norman, age 86 of the Laurel Grove community in Anderson County, formerly of the Pinecrest community, left this earth on Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.  

She was born in Pinecrest on May 7th, 1935 to the late Fred and Dorthy Norman. She went on to become a nurse and briefly lived in Georgia, where she started her own family.

Betty enjoyed doing puzzles, reading books, and writing gospel songs and poems. She loved gospel music and enjoyed singing and talking to people about the Lord.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Mark Anthony “Tony” Morgan; brothers, Harley and David Norman.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Harness and husband, Don of the Laurel Grove community; granddaughters, Abbi Campbell and Kara Amburgey and husband, Tyler; great granddaughters, Tyleigh and Henleigh Amburgey; brothers, Doyle Norman and wife, Vera of El Paso, Texas and Frank Norman and Carolyn Norman of Pinecrest; several nieces, nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to one of Betty’s favorite charities: St. Joesph’s Indian Schools, Easter Seals, or American Disabled Veterans.

The family will hold a graveside service at a later date.
