LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – This month’s City of La Follette Regional Planning Commission started a little differently than previous months.

Chairman Joe Bolinger opened the meeting by paying tribute to Ed Wheeler who passed away last week. According to Bolinger, Wheeler “will be sorely missed” and “liked to go by the rules.” The appointment of a new vice chairman and a new board member will be delayed out of respect for Wheeler.

The only item on the agenda was an approval for a new Airbnb located at 707 East Central Avenue. The owner, Tonia Chadwell was present. The Airbnb will accommodate eight guests and have room for five parking spots. Chadwell is a small business owner of Social Grace Custom Event Styling and has had 37 weddings this year. Her target guests are those who travel from out of town for those weddings. Between weddings, ATV travelers are welcome to stay. However, there is no legal ATV route at this property and therefore no ATVs can be unloaded there. Board members requested that it be posted on the property that no ATVs may be unloaded.
