WHITE OAK, TN (WLAF) – White Oak Elementary School’s Rebecca Taylor is WLAF’s educator of the week. Taylor is from Williamsburg, Kentucky, and she teaches Special Education.
She has been a teacher at White Oak for eight years. Taylor said she had always wanted to be a teacher, but it was something very personal that inspired her to go into special education. “I have always wanted to teach, but my son being born with a disability inspired me to go into special education,” Taylor said.
Her favorite part of the job is her students. “Even when life gets me down, I am instantly lifted up when I see those smiling faces. Something that keeps me going on hard days is also my students. I see how they struggle, and they never give up. How can you let a bad day get to you when you see that kind of perseverance every day,” Taylor said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/18/2021-6AM)
