CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Caryville Elementary’s Bethany Hendrickson is WLAF’s teacher of the week.

She teaches second grade at Caryville and is in her third year as an educator.

Hendrickson said she “truly feels like she is living her dream” and that it was educators of her own that inspired her to teach.

“I knew since I was a little girl in Mrs. Tommie Lou Perkins second grade class that I wanted to be a teacher just like her. I strive to live up to her and my other inspiration, Ms. Sandra Davenport on a daily basis,” Hendrickson said

Her favorite part of teaching is the relationship she gets to build with her students.

“It really warms my heart to get all the hugs and drawings saying, “I love you, Mrs. Hendrickson!” I hope they all know that I love them just as much,” Hendrickson said.

And while the hard days do happen when you’re a teacher, Hendrickson said it’s knowing God has placed her “right where she’s supposed to be” that keeps her going.

“Hard days come, but the one thing that keeps me pushing through is knowing I am placed exactly where God wants/needs me to be. I am so grateful for his blessings. I am also very thankful for the support I receive from my amazing husband, Bobby, my daughter, Marissa, and the rest of my family; my mom and dad especially. Without them and their support of me and my dreams, I wouldn’t be in the position I am today.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/11/2021-6AM)
