Donald L. Kitts Sr., age 86, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 8, 2021. He was a member of Fincastle Church of God where he was a trustee for many years. Don loved the Lord and served him for most of his life. He loved to hunt and fish in his younger years, and he loved sports, especially the Tennessee Volunteers. He also enjoyed going to watch the Campbell County Cougars with his brother Warren and nephew Dewayne.

Don was born November 18, 1934. The son of Albert Jess and Mary Elizabeth Ayers Kitts. His father Albert died in 1943 in the Etna mine disaster when Don was only 8 years old.

Don is preceded in death by his first wife, the love of his life and mother of his children, Wilma Jean Rutherford Kitts and his son Donald L. (Donnie) Kitts Jr. and infant daughter Donna Faye; his parents Albert Jess and Mary Elizabeth Ayers Kitts; brother Dennis Kitts and wife Maxie; sister Sue Evans and husband Glen; second wife Imogene Uselton Kitts; and special friend Edith “Patsy” Ellis.

He is survived by his daughters Janet Leigh Kitts and Lisa Kitts Asbury of LaFollette; granddaughters  Ashleigh, Corley and husband Davis of Nashville, Krista Brook McDonald and husband Will of Livingston; great grandchildren Audrey Claire and William Jack McDonald; brothers Clayton and wife Edna of Franklin TN and Warren and wife Wilma of Caryville; his also leaves behind his beloved dog Jack; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Fincastle Church of God with funeral service following at 7:00 PM with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. The family will meet at 10:15 AM on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Woodlawn Cemetery for a 11:00 AM interment.
