Everette Goins, age 80, of LaFollette passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021.  He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and recently attended Forks Grove Baptist Church.  

He was a veteran of the United States Army and the United States Air Force. He worked for the United States Post Office for five years and retired from the Department of Energy after twenty years of service in 1995. After retirement he continued to work for several Department of Energy subcontractors for another decade.

He was an avid motorcyclist and loved to play multiple instruments. He loved to travel and was fortunate to see most of the world during his professional and personal life. He loved his family, friends, and his dog, Tuffy.

He spent years taking care of his wife, Wilma, as she struggled with health issues. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren and was most generous with not only them but anyone he encountered.

He lived his final days in a battle with cancer but it did not weaken his spirit. His children were constantly accompanying him during this time and were with him as he left this world to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for eternity.

Grandchildren: Trey Hudson, Megan Hudson and Mackenzie Cox

Family will receive friends 5-7 PM Saturday, October 30, 2021, Cross-Smith Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7 PM, Keith Goins officiating.  Family and friends will meet at 10:15 AM Sunday, Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Powell Valley Cemetery for 11 AM Interment.
