Dennis Ray Burriss, age 62 of Caryville, departed this life on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at LaFollette Medical Center. He was born on March 25, 1959 to the late Russell and Susie (White) Burriss. He was a loving father and grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, his girlfriend Michelle, and his brother Robert. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing, and anything to do with the outdoors.

In addition to his parents, Dennis is preceded in death by his brothers Floyd and Teddy Burriss; sisters Linda Seiber and Lucille Adkins.

He is survived by his sons Dennis Ray Burriss Jr. and wife Alisha of Smithville, TN, and Mason Shane Buriss of Caryville; daughter Monica Ferguson and husband Ricky “Teddy” of Jacksboro; brothers Robert Burriss of Jacksboro and Wade Burress and wife Tammy of Rocky Top; sisters Brenda Burris and Annie Seiber and husband Raymond of Rocky Top; grandchildren Brantley and Peyton Ferguson and Jacob and Caleb Burriss; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Dennis will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Darryl Arender officiating. The interment will follow the funeral service at Campbell Memorial Gardens.
