Jane Ann (Teague) McFarland passed away on Friday October 15, 2021. She was the daughter of  Evelyn Gray Teague and Howard Teague, She was born in LaFollette, where she spent her growing up years.  She attended West LaFollette Elementary and graduated from LaFollette High School. Her undergraduate degree was from Cumberland College in Williamsburg and her master’s was from the University of Tennessee. After the death of her husband Gerald, she moved to Moss Creek Condominiums in Knoxville and cared for her father. Her last residence was Morning Point in Powell.

Her career was teaching elementary students, mainly fourth grade. She taught at East LaFollette, Jacksboro Elementary, and Caryville Elementary schools. She loved helping to prepare her students with a good foundation for their future. She was a proud member of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. Teaching was her live. She fondly remembered her students and was so proud of them.

She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She was a member of New Horizon Baptist Church in LaFollette, but often attended functions at Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Powell with her sister Tommye and Gary. She had many friends there. She enjoyed attending the Knoxville Christian Women’s Connection. She was an avid Bible reader. Jane was always ready to help someone in need. She loved animals, and her pets were treated like people-Socks, the cat; Ellye and Prissy, her Jack Russell Terriers.

Preceded in death by parents, Evelyn and Howard Teague; husband, Gerald McFarland; many aunts and cousins too numerous to name  ( our mother had 12 siblings and our father had 8).

Survivors; Sister, Tommy Sue McGinnis, brother in law, Gary McGinnis; niece Leann Foley

(Brent); special cousin, Ida Love; Aunt Lois Davis and Uncle David Gray; others accepted as family, Robert Boshears, Dean McGinnis (Hope); Kristin and Christopher McGinnis; Raine Stalworth. Little Raine always had faith that “Jane will get better.” She is better now in the arms of Jesus.

Family and friends will gather at 2 PM on Tuesday October 19, 2021 for a graveside service and interment conducted by Dr. Thomas Sweet  at Woodlawn cemetery in LaFollette.
