LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The price of gasoline increased 17 cents a gallon on Tuesday in Campbell County and is poised to top $3. The day started with a gallon of regular unleaded, self-serve gasoline at $2.82, and before the day was out, the price spiked at $2.99.

In January, gas was $1.95 a gallon. Last October, we were paying $1.72 a gallon meaning the price has increased $1.27 in 12-months.

As the nation was coming off the pipeline rupture in October of 2017, gasoline was $2.02 a gallon. The last time the price was $2.99 was on October 7, 2014.

Three dollar a gallon gasoline has not been seen at the pump since October 6, 2014. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/13/2021-6AM)
