Rev. George Andrew Ayers, age 84 of the Stinking Creek Community, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021.  Andrew was an Ordained Minister and Pastored Friendship Community Church.  He was retired from the Campbell County Sanitation Department and was a former Coal Miner.  Preceded in death by Parents, Rob and Lizzy Ayers, Sisters, Marie “Reecie” Ridenour, and two infant Sisters, Essie and Mary Lou Ayers, Father and Mother-in-law, Richard and Pearl Chambers. 

Survivors:  Wife, Wanda Chambers Ayers; Children, Bruce Harmon, Karen Ayers, Herb Ayers, Earl England and wife, Linda, and Susan; Grandchildren, Joe Harmon, Brandon Harmon, Matthew Ayers, Arabella Ayers, Daniel England and wife, Christina, Bruce Harmon, Jr. and Jennifer Harmon; Great-Granddaughter, Emma England and 4 other Great-Grandchildren; Brothers, Dub Ayers and wife, June, Charles Ayers and wife, Linda, and Eddie Ayers and wife, Jessie; Sisters, Dessie Smiddy, Ann Colvin and husband, Bob, Ester Caldwell and husband, Wayne, and Leona Brinker; and Brother-in-law, Bill “Fezz” Ridenour. Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021, 2:00 P.M. at Ayers Cemetery.  Online condolences for Rev. Ayers may be made at www.waltersfuneralhome.net.  Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Rev. George Andrew Ayers.

  1. So sorry to hear this.Andrew was a very good man.I work with Andrew and his brother Dub Ayers.Just don’t get know better than these two guys!!! Love you and will miss you my friend!Prayers for Wanda and family
