JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County man indicted in connection with the stabbing death of Kentucky native Donnie Bryant has a trial date set for Jan. 19, 2022.

Billy Jay Randolph, 48, appeared at the Campbell County courthouse for a status hearing on his case on Sept. 13. At that time, Eighth Judicial District Criminal Court Judge Shayne Sexton set the case for trial.

Randolph was arrested in Dayton, Ohio, by the TBI in Dec. 2020 for charges related to Bryant’s death. He had been on the TBI’s most wanted list since Dec. 1.

Bryant’s body was found on Nov. 17 down an embankment on Cedar Creek Road. He had sustained multiple stab wounds. Bryant, 43, was from Williamsburg, Ky.

In April 2021, a Campbell County Grand Jury indicted Randolph on one count of second degree murder and one count of aggravated assault with death.

Currently Randolph remains in custody in the Campbell County Jail, according to court officials. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/28/2021-6AM)
