DUFF, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Fox was traveling on Westbourne Rd, Duff, on Sunday when he saw a white Ford F-150 that did not have tail lights. Fox stopped the vehicle and told the driver who was identified as Jared Bryan Lay why he had stopped him. Lay allegedly told Fox that he did not have a valid driver’s license. As Fox continued speaking, he learned that Lay had taken Suboxone earlier in the day, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

Lay was given field sobriety tests on which he performed poorly. Fox confirmed Lay’s drivers license was also suspended. He also learned that the driver was wanted for warrants out of Whitley County, KY.

Lay, 23, 422 Shady Pine Lane, Newcomb, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), driving while suspended, violation light law and hold for another agency. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/24/2021-6AM)
