PIONEER, TN (WLAF) – A man from Elk Valley died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle traffic accident on Saturday morning.

Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol report that 50-year old Brian Atchison was traveling north on Highway 297 in his 1993 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck. The investigating trooper details that Atchison’s truck drifted across the southbound lane and left the roadway on the west side. The Dodge struck a standing tree and came to an uncontrolled rest partially in the southbound lane of the roadway.

Information from Central Dispatch reveals that the call came in at 11:58am on Saturday morning, and that Atchison was pinned in the wreckage.
