CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – A group of ATV riders was traveling on Caryville Mountain just before 11am on Sunday when one person’s ATV left Mountain Road. The accident happened not far from the railroad tracks that run through Caryville.

Officials said a 40-year- old man, alone on his side-by-side, went over an embankment near where Tram Road meets Mountain Road. It was reported that the ATV lodged in a group of trees and ejected the man throwing him an estimated 20 feet back down to the road.

It was too foggy for a medical helicopter to land at the Caryville ball field. The man died not long after the mishap occurred according to officials. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/12/2021-12:10PM)
