JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Thursday night, the Town of Jacksboro Board of Mayor and Aldermen met in regular session after being postponed last week.

Members of the board made quick work of the short agenda. Vice Mayor Jeri Starrett advised that the town wanted to complete some grade work on South Street to make it a two way street. Currently the street is a one way street, and the grade work will be done by the street department.

The town received a $28,000 quote from Rogers Group for paving from South Street to East Street. The board agreed to accept bids for the paving.

The fire department was approved to purchase $725 in materials for Fire Prevention Week. Also approved in fire department business was the Outdoor Warning Siren Policy and Procedures.

In final business of the night, the board agreed to pay three employees who had been off work due to COVID-19. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/10/2021-6AM)
