KNOXVILLE, TN (WLAF) – The Lady Cougar Soccer team travelled to Powell Thursday night.  From the beginning of the match to the end, the Panthers kept the Cougars on their back foot making it nearly impossible for the Campbell County to play offense.  The strong passing game demonstrated by the Panthers was able to split midfielders and defenders alike giving the Panthers ample opportunities to take shots on goal.

Senior Lady Cougar goalkeeper, Makenzie York had some great saves including a phenomenal effort where she managed to get her fingertips on the ball to nudge it over the cross bar.  Despite the effort, the Panthers were able to take a commanding lead of 6-0 at the half.

Campbell’s Faith Elkins started the second half in goal after an injury took York out of the game.  The Cougars started the second half with a Sage Elwin goal within the first two minutes.  This would be the Cougars only goal of the match, but the Panthers found success four more times making the final score 10-1.  The Cougars stand at 1-2-1.
