LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The latest scam involves spoof telephone calls from La Follette Police. “This is not us, and we want folks to know that and not be taken by these con artists,” said Stan Foust, La Follette City Administrator.

The caller is demanding money for unpaid fines as well as making general threats. “If we have need to see you about anything, our police officers will do it in person. If you need to pay a fine, the proper way is to come to City Hall; not by telephone. We don’t do business this way,” Foust added. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/28/2021-NOON)
