Mr. Herman Bruce Mefford, age 88 of Jacksboro passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021.  He was a member of Woodlake Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Korea.  Herman was employed as a foreman with Hale Construction in Morristown, TN for many years and was also a saw sharpener.  He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family, going to church, and dining at Shoney’s in Caryville.  Preceded in death by Wife, Faye Byrd Mefford, Parents, Alonzo and Ida Duncan Mefford, Brothers, Thomas, Theodore, Curtis, and Clifford Mefford, Sister, Lillian Williams.

Survivors: Son, Terry Mefford; Daughter, Penny Hamilton; Grandchildren, Drew Mefford and Wife, Madison, Amanda Mefford, Jeremy Hamilton, and Melissa Hansen and Husband, Joseph; Great-Grandchildren, Judah Mefford, Gavin Hansen, and Isaac Hansen; Sister, Mary Lou Phillips; Brother, John L. Mefford; Several Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Funeral Services Saturday, August 21, 2021, 7:00 P.M. at Woodlake Baptist Church with Rev. George Asbury and Rev. Larry Russell officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Saturday before funeral services.  Family and friends will meet Sunday, August 22, 2021, 1:30 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Mt. Paran Cemetery for Graveside Services and Interment.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

  1. HERMAN WAS A VERY FRIENDLY PERSON..I KNEW HIS WIFE FAYE….BOB AND I USED TO EAT BREAKFAST RIGHT BESIDE HIM AT BOJANGLES ON SUNDAY MORNING….THEN THE VIRUS HIT…AND WE MET NO MORE ON SUNDAY MORNING…..TO THE FAMILY…SORRY FOR YOUR PAIN AND LOSS…
