PIONEER, TN (WLAF) – Brittany Jeffers is WLAF’s teacher of the week. She teaches Special Education at Elk Valley  Elementary and just began her 13th year as an educator.

Jeffers said she had always wanted to become a teacher from a very young age and was inspired to follow her career by several teachers of her own.

“Teaching was my dream career from a very young age, and I had multiple teachers who reinforced that desire with their zeal and dedication to the profession,” Jeffers said.

Her favorite part of the job is seeing “students’ succeed at something they have been struggling with and seeing the pride in their faces.

“She said that despite the challenges of the past school year, her students were generally positive about the school climate and she had several students show significant growth even in such an unusual year.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/19/2021-6AM)
