Brenda Kay Cole, age 75 of Caryville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at her home. She was born on July 18, 1946, to the late Clarence Sweeney and Opal (Donahue) Sweeney.  Brenda was a loving wife of 24 years, mother, and grandmother that enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She also loved spending time on the lake fishing, writing poetry, and attending church at House of Prayer and Praise when she was able.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son James Day, brother Kyle Turner, sisters; Jewell Halvorsen, Hazel Salvi, Beulah Parker, Melda McCullah, and twin sister Glenda Blankenship; and grandchild Sarah Goins.

She is survived by her loving husband James Cole; son Earl Day of Jacksboro; daughters Joyce Householder and husband Scott of Rockford and Gail Goins of LaFollette; sister Doris Miller of LaFollette; grandchildren Danielle Ridenour, Katie Goins,7 step grandchildren; great grandchildren Laila Householder and Kissta Wilson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 20, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with funeral to follow at 8:00 PM with Mike Franklin officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 AM on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Powell Valley Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment.
