LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – US currency, meth and drug paraphernalia were among the items confiscated in a routine traffic stop by La Follette Police Officers Jami Hall and Matthew Forsyth.

For the officers, Forsyth, a detective/sergeant, and Hall, this was their second such stop in a month.

Diesel alerted officers to drugs.

A traffic violation prompted the traffic stop at the Midway Car Wash across from the high school around 5pm Thursday afternoon. Forsyth deployed his K-9 partner, Diesel, and Diesel promptly sniffed and alerted to both items in the 2008 Jeep and on the occupants. Officers discovered several bags of meth and drug paraphernalia along with cash.

Arrested were Michael Todd Huckaby, 42, 306 North 21st Street-La Follette, 37-year old Steven Creg Huckaby of 249 Crestview Lane – Jacksboro and Sheryl Lynn Letner, 47, 306 North 21st Street – La Follette. Michael Huckaby and Letner face the same charges; resale of schedule II meth and possession of drug paraphernalia while Steven Huckaby was charged with possession of schedule II meth. 1. Wish every cop had a dog! there are so many weaving around on the roads!
So now they’ve been arrested… now what? A slap on the wrist?
One judge told me they can only do so much because they are limited by the laws.. We need to have our politicians change the law (a 3 strikes & you’re out would be good!) or change our lawmakers!!! Elections will be upon us soon!
Time for EVERYONE to do a little checking NOW on how all these have voted in the past, and then check their opponents when they’re announced.
If we don’t do it no one will!!
