JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The man suspected of tunneling into a Franklin, TN, Walgreens Pharmacy was arrested in Jacksboro this morning.

On August 10, Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Shayne Wilburn received a tip through the Franklin Police Department of the location of Austin Cornett (top photo), a suspect wanted in a May 18 robbery of a Walgreens pharmacy in Franklin.

Deputy Wilburn located Cornett at 130 Pat Place in Jacksboro and placed him under arrest without incident. Cornett was transported to the Campbell County Jail and awaits transport to Franklin for charges relating to the Walgreens theft.

Officials with the Franklin Police Department had been searching for Cornett since the robbery, after he allegedly hid inside the Walgreens on Murfreesboro Road until the store closed for the day, according to the Franklin Police. Cornett then allegedly “tunneled” into the pharmacy section and stole a large amount of opioids.

Cornett’s listed address is Wildwood Circle, La Follette, according to jail records. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/10/2021-11AM)
