JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – WLAF’s Charlie Hutson has been watching the grass grow on the new football field at Campbell High.

Here, the Kalmia crew begins to fill the field as bags of sand and rubber shreds were loaded into the spreader.
Once its load is off, it goes following a set pattern to spread the fill evenly over the entire field.
The screen truck is also working the field to help keep the field level by working it in.
Then it’s time for the sweeper. It works to fill deep into the field fiber. The fiber begins to rise; almost like watching grass grow.

If all goes as planned, the Kalmia crew’s work should be finished this week. After filling the field, they will do some trim and tuck work around the edges and then some clean up after their work is completed.

There will still be some work yet to do on the Cougars new field. Erecting goal posts is on that list. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/26/2021-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
