JACKSBORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – It’s been reported that bogus phone calls are being made to substitute teachers.

“The caller is telling them that they cannot substitute teach in Campbell County schools this year if they have not received the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Jennifer Fields, director of schools for Campbell County. The director emphasizes that this is not true.

The federal government does not require the COVID-19 vaccination for people. Additionally, there is no local mandate requiring that students, school staff, or substitute teachers receive the COVID-19 vaccination. “Tennessee children are required to get certain vaccines to return to school, but the COVID-19 vaccine is not a requirement,” said Fields.
