LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Tosha Tackett was dispatched to 200 Brooke Place Lane about an alleged break-in. The caller reported that “Thomas Scott Walker had busted a window out and went into an apartment.”

When Tackett arrived at the scene, she spoke with the apartment manager who reported Walker was around back. Tackett found Walker struggling to get free from a witness to escape, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

After a brief struggle, Walker was placed in handcuffs.

Once in handcuffs the Walker allegedy shouted, “I took some Xanax. That’s what made me do this.”

Tackett helped Walker onto his feet and put him in her patrol car. Once in the car, Walker allegedly stated his blood sugar was around 600. That prompted Tackett to request Campbell County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to check Walker.

While waiting on EMS, Tackett searched Walker and found a gold ring and a gold in color bracelet in his pocket. A screwdriver and an industrial stapler were found inside Walker’s hoodie pocket, according to the report. Walker was transported to the hospital because the blood sugar tester on the ambulance failed to work.

He was later transported to the Campbell County Jail.

Walker, 35, 210 Brooke Place Lane, LaFollette was charged with public intoxication, aggravated burglary, resisting arrest and possession of burglary tools. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 7/19/21-6AM)
