LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A maroon Chevy Blazer traveling on Middlesboro Hwy at a high rate of speed and a broken taillight recently caught the attention of Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Deputy Preston Mullins.  Mullins stopped the vehicle on July 7 and spoke with the driver, Caleb Isaac Dunn and requested his driver’s license, proof of insurance and proof of valid registration.

While speaking with the driver, Mullins noticed that his pupils were dilated. Dunn told Mullins that he did not have a driver’s license because it was revoked for DUI in Ohio.  Mullins was able to confirm through dispatch the status of the license and there was not a valid registration or insurance on the vehicle, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Department.

Mullins noticed an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. When Dunn was ask if he had smoked any marijuana, he allegedly reported that he did earlier in the day. Mullins had Dunn get out of the vehicle to do field sobriety test, as he was exiting the vehicle, he pulled a clear plastic bag containing a burnt cigars containing a green leafy substance that he reported was marijuana from his pants pocket. When he was ask to open his mouth and stick out his tongue, Mullins noticed his tongue had a green film on it consistent with smoking marijuana, according to the report.

Dunn, 26, 1017 Crossvalley Road, LaFollette is charged with violation light law, violation of TN financial law, violation registration law, driving while revoked, driving under influence (2nd offense). (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/16/2021-6AM)
