JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – A call to Central Dispatch alerted a Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy that there was a man, appearing to be intoxicated, on Stone Mill Road where it meets Overlook Lane.

At 10:30am on the morning of Wednesday, June 30, Deputy Tosha Tackett responded to Stone Mill Road and found a man fitting the description of wearing blue shorts and appearing intoxicated. Tackett talked with 36-year- old Gerard Shawn Ellison of 139 Elk Lake Lane in Jacksboro. According to the report, Ellison’s speech was slurred and his pupils were pinpoint. The deputy said Ellison was unable to control his arm movements and his body was jerking.

Ellison was placed under arrest and charged with public intoxication. Based on jail records this was the 39th arrest for the unemployed father of one. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/09/2021-6AM)

  1. Just curious
Why do you put how many times the person has been arrested also this one you say is unemployed and with one child????

    1. Thank you for your response, Shauna.

WLAF does not always share how many times a person has been arrested.

However, when the age of the person is compared to his number of arrests, and it seems extreme or very high, WLAF generally publishes the number of arrests.

For example, the story you responded to involves a man who is 34-years old and has been arrested 24 times. That’s 24 arrests over 16 years since he was age 18.

WLAF reports it and let’s you decide.
