PIONEER, TN (WLAF) – It may be summer, but WLAF isn’t taking a break from highlighting area educators. This week’s teacher feature highlights Elk Valley Elementary’s Bethany Baird. She teaches fifth and sixth grade Language Arts & Social Studies at Elk Valley Elementary School.

Baird has been an educator for 12 years and was inspired to follow a career in teaching by her parents and family.

“Both of my parents were educators and I have several relatives in the teaching profession,” Baird said.

Her favorite part of the job is seeing her students “grow as a learner and gaining more confidence.”

According to Baird, the past year has helped her learn to “appreciate the little things,” the things that normally get taken for granted. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/01/2021-6AM)
