JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Countdown to the 2021 Campbell Cougar football season began on October 31, and as of yesterday, we are two months away from the season opener.

WLAF’s Charlie Hutson provides a photo update of the progress being made on the new turf field that will be unveiled on August 27 when the Heritage Mountaineers visit Dossett Stadium.

The drainage system is soon to be installed on the Cougars new football field.
As work continues on the soon-to-be new Cougar football field, the concrete retaining wall around the field has been poured.

Eleventh year Head Football Coach Justin Price shares the 2021 schedule which opens against a first-ever opponent, the famed Purple Pounders of Chattanooga Central High School. The school is located in northeast Hamilton County in the Harrison community, and that’s where the first game will be played come Friday, August 20.

Another first-ever opponent is Kingston. The Yellow Jackets will visit Dossett Stadium on Sep. 24.
