JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Det. Sgt. Cody Chapman has been promoted to assistant chief of the Jacksboro Police Department. 

Jacksboro Police Chief Jeremy Goins made the promotion announcement this week. “It’s a great pleasure to announce the promotion of Det. Sgt. Cody Chapman to the rank of assistant chief. He brings 11 years of experience and dedication to law enforcement in Campbell County, as well as a high level of leadership skills and work ethic. Assistant Chief Chapman is well deserving of this promotion and will go on to do great things,” Goins said. 

Cody Chapman grew up the son of a policeman. Chapman’s father, Danny, served 22 years as the Jacksboro Chief of Police.

Chapman said he looks forward to serving the community in his new capacity as assistant chief. He said he will continue his job as an investigator and the duties that accompany that, and will assume more administrative duties for the department as well.
