LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The Pine Mountain Longbeards chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation held a  banquet fundraiser and auction at the Ball Event Center on Thursday evening. Around 150 people attended the sold out Gun Blast auction event, which raised funds to be used for conservation and local youth events in the county.

More than 30 guns, as well as a Honda four-wheeler, were raffled or auctioned off at the event, as were multiple other items. Many area businesses and individuals donated items, guns or packages to the cause. 

Chapter president Billy Ball said he appreciated the support for the event, which helps fund conservation in the county as well as youth events such as Jake’s Day.

“We appreciate everyone that helped out with this fundraiser, along with our other events. We couldn’t do it without all your support,” Ball said.

The Pine Mountain Longbeards is the largest NWTF chapter in Tennessee. The non-profit organization hosts multiple events throughout the year, and provides local scholarships for students. Some events include the Wounded Warriors turkey hunt plus the Turkey Hunters Care Food box distribution at the holidays.
