CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Two people were injured, one fatally, in a head-on crash Sunday night just before 9pm.

On State Route 116 in south Campbell County, near the Anderson County line, is where a car and a pick-up truck collided according to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The trooper details that a 1995 Oldsmobile CRL sedan driven by 32-year old Joseph Gosnell of Jellico was heading north on Hwy 116 when it crossed the center line and hit an oncoming 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck head-on.

Gosnell’s passenger, 30-year old Jamie Sexton of La Follette was also injured. Neither was wearing a seat belt according to the THP report.

Jimmy Burris, 30, of Caryville, who was driving the pick-up, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/07/2021-NOON)
