CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Last Wednesday morning, as rain fell, Campbell County Sheriff’s Sergeant Gary Jeffers was patrolling along Highway 116 south of Caryville. The sergeant passed an SUV that was allegedly not using its headlights.

It was just after 11am when Jeffers noticed the windshield of the Dodge Durango was “cracked and busted obstructing the driver’s view to safely operate the SUV,” according to the narrative from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office. During the traffic stop, the sergeant learned that the man behind the wheel, 33-year- old Timothy Mills, Jr., was driving on a suspended driver’s license, and he did not have any proof of financial responsibility

Mills, of 803 South Cumberland Avenue, La Follette was placed under arrest for the two charges. Jeffers inventoried the Dodge and allegedly found a set of digital scales and corner cut baggies, commonly used to package narcotics.

Based on records from the Campbell County Jail, Mills is unemployed and was arrested for the 15th time and was charged with violation of the light law, driving while suspended, violation of the Tennessee financial law and possession of drug paraphernalia. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/08/2021-6AM)
