CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Driving over the speed limit earned 26-year- old Jonathan Allen Durham special attention from a couple of law enforcement officers.

Durham was traveling down Highway 116 south of Caryville when he was allegedly clocked at 51 miles per hour in a 45-MPH zone. Campbell County Sheriff’s Det.-Sg.t Gary Jeffers and Capt. John Long pulled over Durham in his 1998 Blue Ford Crown Victoria at Old Vasper Road and soon learned Durham’s driver’s license was revoked.

As Long was patting down Durham, he asked him if he had anything illegal on him. Based on the narrative from the CCSO, Durham allegedly admitted to having Methamphetamine on him.

A glass container was allegedly found in Durham’s right front pocket with what was believed to be meth inside the container. The report also detailed that Durham did not have auto insurance.

Just before 6pm on May 27, Durham, of 179 Dilbeck Lane, Caryville, was arrested and charged with speeding, violation of the Tennessee financial law, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

Jail records reveal that Durham is unemployed and was arrested for the fifth time. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/07/2021-6AM)
