NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) – The State of Tennessee has announced the state will be releasing COVID-19 Recovery funds to eligible local governments. Local governments will receive funds in two payments with 50 percent provided by the end of this May and the balance will be delivered in approximately 12 months.  

Recipients may use these funds to:  

– Support public health expenditures

– Address negative economic impacts caused by the the public health emergency

– Replace lost public sector revenue

– Provided premium pay for essential workers – Invest in water, sewer and broadband infrastructure  

Within all these categories, the local governments have broad flexibility to decide how best to use this funding to meet the needs of their communities.  

“The Campbell County allocation is $7,738,841 and will be distributed as outlined in the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) guidelines,” said Representative Powers.

State Representative Dennis Powers said, “These funds are distributed from the federal government directly to larger governments, such as metropolitan areas. However, they are distributed to smaller local governments, like our county government, through the state government.
