DUFF, TN (WLAF) – A Campbell County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a routine traffic stop early on Thursday morning in the Sled Creek community.

As a result, the woman driving the older model sedan was taken into custody on a DUI (driving under the influence) charge.

During the 1:43am traffic stop, two unrestrained children were found in the car. The attending deputy noted that the children were suffering from cuts to their hands and arms from broken glass. The deputy noted that the car appeared to have been recently involved in a wreck. Campbell County EMS was dispatched to White Oak Road at Hatmaker Hollow Road to evaluate the children.

The deputy reported he allegedly found “an open container of alcohol” in the console of the vehicle.

UPDATE: Officials at the Campbell County Jail report that the driver of the car is identified as 40-year- old Kathryn Rosales of Duff. She is facing charges of DUI, the open container law, two counts of child endangerment, the child restraint law, seat belt law and failure to notify of wreck.
