NEWCOMB, TN (WLAF) – A recent disturbance ended with an arrest. Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Preston Mullins was dispatched to the Newcomb area where the caller alleged that David Wayne Perkins was at her residence making threats to harm her and another person, a man, at the home on Newcomb Pike.

When Mullins arrived, he found the pair of men standing outside the residence. The victim told Mullins Perkins pulled his white Ford F-150 behind him, blocking him in. He continued that Perkins then got out of the truck and started making threats to him. When Perkins got out of the truck making threats, he grabbed a wooden board and started swinging it at him. The victim then he grabbed a shovel to defend himself, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

Perkins had left the scene by the time the deputy arrived. Mullins went to his Depot Lane home where he found him vacuuming glass out of a white Ford F150. During transport to the jail, Perkins told Mullins that he had driven to the victim’s residence and told the victim to come fight him. He then told Mullins that he did throw the board, however he did not believe the board made contact with the victim. Mullin’s report notes that the victim had a large abrasion on his lower back side.
