PIONEER, TN (WLAF) – Jessica Crowley is WLAF’s teacher of the week. She teaches fourth grade at Elk Valley Elementary and is in her 13th year as a teacher in Campbell County Schools.

Her inspiration for teaching “comes from those who have taught her along the way”. Crowley attended Jellico Elementary, White Oak, and Jellico High School and said she had some of the very best educators throughout the years!

Her favorite part about her job is seeing kids learn and grow.  “I have learned that kids are like sponges at this age. They learn so much in 4th grade. If expectations are high, kids will strive to meet and even exceed them,” Crowley said.

This school year has been anything but normal, with challenges for both teachers and students alike, but Crowley said everyone at Elk Valley has come together as a team. “I am so thankful for everyone who works at Elk Valley. It has taken all of us to make it work. If anything, this year has shown me that we are more like family than colleagues.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/22/2021-6AM)
