JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Open Arms Ministry Food Pantry will be holding a benefit yard sale on Saturday, May 1 beginning at 7 am till 3 pm. The sale will be held in the Open Arms Ministry Food Pantry parking lot located at 1112 McGhee Lane, Jacksboro.

Hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase at the benefit yard sale, as will home baked goodies. Yard sale items will include household items, gently used clothes, various miscellaneous furniture, electronics and more. All items were donated by family and friends.

According to food pantry volunteers, the organization hasn’t been able to hold its regular fundraisers over the last year, so the hope is for a “big turnout” at the yard sale. Anyone with yard sale items wishing to donate for the cause can do so by contacting the food pantry.

All proceeds from the yard sale will be used to purchase food and pay utilities at the ministry’s building. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

The food pantry continues to see a rise in the local need for food.
