LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Upon hearing the news of the death of his friend Michael Adams, Rodney Lawson was quick to say “he was a good man and a great friend.” Adams died tragically in a farming accident on Monday afternoon.

Adams, 71, of the Sugar Hollow Community died around 5 pm yesterday afternoon when his tractor overturned in a field just off Old Jacksboro Pike.

First responders arrived to find a man trapped under a tractor near the Pyro Shows Warehouse Facility at 1808 Jacksboro Pike. The accident scene was reported to be less than a tenth of a mile off the pike. The man, identified as Adams, was freed and transported to the La Follette Medical Center where he later died.

Neighbors who knew and lived near Adams say he was always feeding cows, rolling hay or something farm related. One neighbor called it heartbreaking and described Adams as a great man and a good Christian man.

The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, the Campbell County Rural Fire Service, Campbell County EMS, La Follette Fire Department and La Follette Rescue Squad responded.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Cross-Smith Funeral Home. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/20/2021-3PM)
