NEWCOMB, TN (WLAF) – A call of a possibly intoxicated man causing a disturbance sent a Campbell County Deputy to a home at 2941 Highway 297.

When the deputy arrived, he spoke with a witness who said a man, identified as Jamie Allen Hoover, had been at the residence talking incoherently and hallucinating stating that “someone placed some sort of chip behind his eye and there were people chasing him.” The witness continued that Hoover went to a bedroom in the home where she was a guest and began to slam things around and punch the walls. According to the sheriff’s report, this made the witness and the homeowner uncomfortable.

The deputy was able to find Hoover about a mile from the home after he ran into the road. The officer stopped Hoover, and Hoover allegedly told him he was running from people who did not appear to be there. When the deputy told Hoover he was being arrested, he began to run. After a short foot pursuit, Hoover was placed under arrest.

Hoover, 31, 1998 Branam Hill Road, Jellico was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and evading arrest. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/12/2021-6AM)
