After a traffic stop that netted cash and drugs, Campbell County Sheriff’s Investigators secured a search warrant and then searched the suspect’s home.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Sheriff Robbie Goins vowed the CCSO’s Narcotics Unit will fill the void in the war on drugs after Eighth Judicial District Attorney General Jared Effler shut down the Drug Task Force last month. Recently, the Campbell County Narcotics Unit seized $80,000 in cash during a narcotics raid.

Campbell County Sheriff’s Lt. Travis Bostic came across the cash last Monday along with drugs during a traffic stop on the four lane at Jacksboro. Bostic located what the driver of the car described as two bags of heroin in the driver’s pocket. According to Bostic’s report, the driver admitted the cash was proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs. The heroin, weighed at 32 grams, cash and the car were seized. Given the magnitude of this drug bust, Goins is keeping the name of the suspect confidential during the investigation.

Cash seized in last week’s traffic stop by CCSO Lt. Travis Bostic.

Additionally, investigators with the CCSO secured a search warrant for the home of the driver. Members of the narcotics unit allegedly located additional cash from the sale of drugs inside the home plus more narcotics. An ATV, a Honda side by side, that had been reported stolen out of Anderson County, was also recovered.

“This traffic stop and seizure are proof that my department is committed to the promise I made to keep fighting against drug dealers. I will reiterate to the people who are selling drugs or bringing them into Campbell County, big or small, we will not stop our efforts to charge and arrest those breaking the law. You are not welcome in Campbell County,” said Goins. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/12/2021-6AM)
