CLAIRFIELD, TN (WLAF) – Around 7:30 pm Sunday night, First Responders with the White Oak Volunteer Fire Department began working their way toward a man injured in an ATV wreck.

The accident happened in the Rich Mountain area, and the victim was brought out on another ATV to meet an ambulance with Campbell County EMS. As darkness fell, the patient was said to be suffering from serious back pain though he was alert and talking while remaining conscious.

First Responders used Rock Creek Ridge Road off Hwy 90 to gain access to the victim who was transported to Clairfield Elementary School to meet the med chopper. (IMAGE COURTESY OF GOOGLE MAPS)

The medical helicopter landed soon after 9 pm on the grounds of the Clairfield Elementary School just across the county line in Claiborne County. Through the rugged terrain, it took two hours to get to the victim and over to the med chopper. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/11/2021-9:45PM)
