JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Former Jacksboro Alderman Shayne Green is now Mayor Green. His life long dream to serve his community in this capacity has come true.

Green gave up his alderman’s seat to run for mayor this spring and he won convincingly in Saturday’s election.

“I’m honored to serve my hometown as mayor, I don’t take this responsibility lightly, and I will represent my community with integrity and pride,” said Green.

Green outpaced J.C. Miller 180 votes to 55 to become mayor. Of the four candidates vying for the two vacant aldermen posts, Brian Osborn and Jimmy Snodgrass emerged as the top two vote getters. See the election totals HERE.

In the alderman’s race, Jennifer Banks received 44 votes while Roy Green had 99. Osborn came away with 102 votes, one more than Snodgrass’s total of 101.

“The future is bright for the Town of Jacksboro,” Green said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/05/2021-6AM)
