Six tons of trash and debris

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Forty volunteers turned out on a rainy Saturday over the weekend to help in a lake clean-up on Norris Lake above and below Flat Hollow Marina east of La Follette.

A 30 yard container was filled with 44 bags of trash, 29 tires and several large pieces of Styrofoam. It totaled 12,000 pounds or six tons. “We had fun in the rain,” said Campbell County Litter Control Officer Glennis Monday.

Forty volunteers came out on Saturday.

Monday and Campbell County Litter Control Grant Coordinator Keisha Howard extend a thank you to all the volunteers with appreciation extended to Little Caesers Pizza and its owners, Robert and Lori Lockhart and manager Megan Burnett. A special thanks goes out to Billy Ball of La Follette Mine Supply plus Bill Rutherford and Josh Goins with Campbell County Sanitation.
