LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Our Prevention Coordinators, Britney Barnard and Hannah Nelson, alongside the 8th Judicial District ADA’s recently completed a train the trainer program called “Handle with Care” sponsored by Attorney General Jared Effler’s office.

The purpose of “Handle with Care” is to support children exposed to trauma through improved communication and collaboration between law enforcement, schools/child care agencies and child advocacy centers.  The program is intended to provide the school or child care agency with a “heads up” when a child has been identified at the scene of a traumatic event.  Britney, Hannah and the ADA’s will be training law enforcement and school personnel to use this program in our communities.
