DUFF, TN (WLAF) – Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Jacob Clabough charged the driver in a Wednesday afternoon wreck with driving under the influence. Related story.

In the 5:16 pm wreck, 65-year old Ronnie Spradlin of La Follette was charged with DUI, reckless endangerment and vehicular assault. Spradlin’s other charges include simple possession or casual exchange felony, open container, failure to maintain lane and drivers to exercise due care.

Trooper Clabough outlines in his preliminary report that Spradlin was traveling south on Duff Road (the 300 block) in a 2014 Ford F-150 when he lost control, came into contact with earth embankment and overturned for an uncontrolled final rest.

Spradlin and his passenger, 63-year old Bobby Hamblin of Jacksboro, were pinned in the wreckage. First Responders with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service and La Follette Rescue Squad extricated the victims.

Neither was wearing a seat belt based on the THP report. Both men were air lifted to a Knoxville hospital. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/24/2021-9:45AM)
