CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – A report of a man lying in the road sent Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Phillips to Shady View Drive in Caryville.

When he arrived on scene last Sunday morning around 7 am, he found a man identified as Corey Jene Blough, sitting with legs crossed slumped over in the roadway, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Office. Phillips tried to talk with Blough, but he did not respond. After several verbal attempts, Phillips nudged Blough from behind. He was slow to respond and was disoriented, and when he attempted to stand up, he stumbled. Phillips noticed that he was unsteady on his feet, had pinpoint pupils, slurred and incoherent speech. He was also unable to answer simple questions based on the report.

Believing that Blough was a danger to himself and others, he was taken into custody and transported to the Campbell County Jail. During the intake process inside the jail, a clear glass pipe was found in Blough’s pants. Inside the pipe was a burnt crystal-like substance weighing approximately .36 grams, believed to be Methamphetamine.

Blough, 21, 160 White Oak Lane, Caryville is charged with public intoxication, intro contraband into penal institution, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule II-controlled substance. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/18/2021-6AM)
