JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – It was 5 am on Sunday and a car was parked in the middle of Main Street. The Volkswagon’s hazard lights were flashing when Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Preston Mullins came through on patrol.

The deputy made contact with the driver, 23-year- old Courtney Hitt, Jacksboro. Hitt allegedly had a strong odor of alcoholic beverages about her along with glassy eyes and redness around her nose, according to Mullins. Based on the report, Hitt admitted that she had three beers before getting behind the wheel of her Jetta.

The deputy assessed Hitt’s sobriety test performance as poor. She agreed to an intoximeter breath test. Mullins wrote in his report that the results allegedly showed a breath alcohol content (BAC) of .149.

Hitt was charged with DUI (driving under the influence) and has a court date of April 27. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/12/2021-6AM)
